Trans-fats Banned in Calgary, but Overeating isn’t (yet)

globeandmail.com: The hidden hazards of trans-fat bans

Canada’s Globe and Mail has a different take on the banning of trans-fats in restaurant foods. Some experts are concerned that diners will think that they can eat more because of the lack of trans-fats.

Now, we could interpret this two ways: that ‘experts’ think people are dumb, or these ‘experts’ need something else to complain about once trans-fats are out of the way :)

I don’t think most people go to a restaurant with the purpose of over-indulging. Most of us probably eat until we are full, and we may eat a little more because it’s on our plate, or we just have a little bit left or whatever, but we don’t go in thinking “I can eat 2x as much food as I had planned- no trans fats- Woo Hoo!”
