It seems like every sandwich joint or sub place has a concept. But I think it’s great that restaurants like Firehouse Subs can compete with Subway, Quizno’s, etc.
We all seem to build our sandwiches a little different, hence the ‘niche’ markets of these sub places. Firehouse Subs’ unique approach is that some of their sandwiches are heated by a steamer, not a microwave or oven. The sandwich gets moist (not soggy) instead of dry and crusty, which is what you get with an oven.
