I know this site doesn’t specifically talk about health trends, but I came across an interesting map at CNN that shows the increasing rate of obesity in our country. When seen visually, the information is quite startling. It only goes back to 1985, and many states didn’t even keep records of obesity back then, so the results could be even more dramatic if records were kept. If I have some time, I’ll see if I can track down some trends for dining out over this same period. If I were a betting man, I’d bet that the trends will be very similar- an increase in dining out leads to an increase in obesity. This is just another reason why we should patronize restaurants that post nutritional information.
