STIX: Raw Fish but No Nutrition Fax

There’s restaurant named STIX near our neighborhood. The closest thing to a Sushi place I’ve dined in was a Japanese steakhouse that served sushi. I can’t really grasp the whole concept of eating raw fish and seaweed… anyway, I thought that a restaurant that prides itself on “Using only the freshest seafood and fish, choice steaks, select vegetables and fine imported spices” would be happy to provide nutritional information about their menu. I mean, we all kind of know that fish and seaweed are healthy, but what about Wonton Cobbler or Sumo Sundae?

I visited the website for STIX to look for nutritional information. Oddly, their corporate website only referenced their Birmingham Alabama location. Alas, nutritional information was nowhere to be found. But I did learn that the teppanyaki grills operate at a temperature of 500 degrees! To quote a famous celebrity, “That’s hot.”

Unfortunately, I can’t email STIX to inquire about the nutritional value of their food, because their website is being updated (at least their contact form anyway). Calling my local restaurant didn’t help either- the person answering the phone didn’t speak English, and thought I wanted to book a table or something.

I’ll continue to follow-up with STIX to see about their nutrition facts, but I don’t expect much of a response, which is unfortunate.
