Mimi’s cafe menu is full of very tasty dishes. What’s more, if you tell them that it’s your first visit, they give you a free basket of muffins! Yummy! Anyway, neither their menu nor their web site provides any nutritional information. Although their website states “We use ZERO GRAMS TRANS FAT, CHOLESTEROL-FREE COOKING OIL for all of our delicious fried appetizers.” That’s good to know, but nothing ground-breaking. I think at this point, all dining establishments are using oil that doesn’t contain any trans fat or cholesterol.
I’d really like to see restaurants be more forthcoming with this type of information. It shouldn’t be something that consumers must ask for. It should be available for everyone to see. If we are going to make a serious effort to curb the obesity problem in our country, restaurants need to do more. Likewise, consumers need to do more to educate ourselves about the foods that we eat.
Anyway, I sent Mimi’s cafe an email requesting the nutrition facts for their menu items. We’ll see what their response. As always, I’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, feel free to peruse their online menu.

I just had a delicious lunch at Mimi’s Cafe. After my salad (chicken tosdada) I asked if there were nutritional information about the salad and they said no, but go to their website. I tried to find the website but could not locate the nutritional information. Very frustrated. I now have to break down the salad into components and try to figure out what was in each component regarding calories, fat, carbs, etc….Hope soon Mimi will provide this information soon!
I am not sure when they posted the nutrition facts, but they are on the website. When you look at the menu, at the bottom of the listed dishes is a link that says “View Additional Information.” This is where the nutritional info is located. I found almost all of the items listed on their menu DO have the nutrional facts.
Thanks for the tip, Amber! Posted instructions for the readers!
