Ted’s Montana Grill has nutrition information available on their website. “What’s so special about that?” you ask? Nothing, really, except in the way it’s presented. They group their patrons into general categories such as “those on a weight loss program”. You’ll notice they provide diet guidelines (20-30 grams of fiber intake) and general recommendations (ask to have entrees prepared without fat). But then, they offer specific menu recommendations, so patrons don’t have to guess and try to figure out what is best for their program.
The information is clearly presented, it’s easy to understand, and it’s concise. If the information was available in print format at the restaurant, it would be even better. They do have a nutrition guide that you can print (warning: .pdf), if you want. I’d like to see more restaurants follow Ted’s Montana Grill’s lead and provide recommendations for menu items. I’m not really much of a math person, so this saves me trying to figure out fat content, calories, etc. I say, “Kudos to all the people at Ted’s!”
If you’ve not had the chance to eat at Ted’s Montana Grill, you should definitely try it out. I’ve always experienced great food, great service, and great atmosphere. By the way, did you know the founder of Longhorn Steakhouse is also a co-founder of Ted’s? Longhorn Steakhouse could learn a thing or two about nutrition information from Ted’s.
